You might think that, by now, people would have become accustomed to the idea of natural catastrophes. The first of these is the idiotic belief that seismic events are somehow "timed" to express the will of God. Thus, reasoning back from the effect, people will seriously attempt to guess what sin or which profanity led to the verdict of the tectonic plates. I have never seen any rational arguments for the existence of God, so I wouldn't waste my time looking for them. If you come up with some, please let me know. I have seen lots of arguments put forth in favor of God's existence by people who have not looked even close to hard enough to see the rational holes in their arguments. The same goes for arguments against God's existence.

My only argument against the existence of God is that if there was a god, he would have made it pretty obvious that he existed. If there was a god, he would have given us signs that we could understand. He would have put something in the sky to make it obvious that he was up there watching over us, but he hasn't done anything like that.

So, if there is a god, he doesn't want us to know about him or what he has planned for us.
