Nonetheless, writing regularly, inspiration or no, is not a bad way to eventually get into an inspired mood; the plane has to bump along the runway for a while before it finally takes off.

About This Quote

I first read this quote from a blog by a fellow blogger. The comment was a response to a story of a girl who was encouraged to write regularly as a way of getting into an inspired mood. The author of the article said that the girl had been writing for about three weeks, and that at that point she was already feeling better than she had in months. She felt as though the words were coming from her as though they were her own and she couldn’t stop writing.

It was only after she had written for about seven months that she started to feel better and better and she couldn’t stop writing. When the writer of the post said: “the plane has to bump along the runway for a while before it finally takes off,” he was referring to how writing regularly might not always work out as well as hoped for.
