In the current culture of today everyone is trying to be like everyone else. As a result, we are all becoming the same. We are all trying to fit in to the norm and act like everyone else. This trend away from uniqueness has come to be known as "mainstreaming" by many psychologists.
But, the opposite is true. Being different is not being odd or unusual in any way. The truth is that people who are different, think differently and act differently are more interesting than those who are similar in every way.
