We act out of our consciousness, so to speak. If we act mindlessly, we are acting with no-consciousness.

Mindfulness or consciousness is when we act with our full attention on what we are doing at that moment. For example, if I am about to buy a car , I am fully aware of my surroundings and watch out for potential hazards. I might also be fully aware that my decision will have an impact on me in the future , I will either live with regret or live with happiness.
