When our first child was born, we decided to name her Snow White. We spent hours researching names, reading about famous people with that name, and coming up with what we thought was the perfect name. To be honest, I was certain of the name. It had an air of mystery to it and sounded so regal.
So, I took it upon myself to tell my wife what perfect name she had chosen. Of course, she looked at me like I had lost my mind. She said she had never heard of Snow White before and had no idea what I was talking about.
Looking back, I realize that even though this story seems insignificant now, it was quite indicative of how different our views on life were at the time. Everyone knows that growing up is difficult and that new parents are all too prone to making terrible decisions that they will regret later in life. However, even though this little incident sounds silly now, its important to remember how young we were when all of this happened.
