About This Quote

We're told to plug our noses to escape the smells of manure, rot, and poverty. In reality, however, these things are the smells of life. You can't avoid them, can't plug them out of existence. They're part of the air we breathe.

That's why we have to be patient with one another and realize that people make mistakes and sometimes find themselves on a downward spiral that is hard to climb out of. We must be patient with one another but ultimately try our best to help those who need us most. We have no other choice, because no matter how hard we try, we'll never escape the stench of life's stinkiest places.
