LET’S GO BACK HOMEI can't think about you, Without smiling. What I wouldn’t give, To go back there, Take you in my arms, Kiss you, And tell you, " I still love you." It's been three decades now, And still your smile's with me, Your wave goodbye, The love in your eyes, And everything else you gave me, Before that highway fog swept in, And stole your spirit away. Oh- to return by your side again, Fish beside the Pleasant Hill Dam, Hike through the Mayer's woods, Hang out on your big hill, Sleep naked in your twin bed, Fill your room with laughter- And marijuana smoke. You returned home- And I traveled on down the road, Found new loves, Safely took them under my wing, And deeply into my heart. But you know, as I do- This wasn’t always possible. I didn’t always have the fire- The courage to stand tall, The joy to expand, Nor the love to give deeply. These were all your gifts-- To me. Someday- When I close my eyes for good, And cry out- "Lord- forgive me for I have sinned-" I'll joyously return by your side, Take you into my arms, Kiss you, And tell you, " I still love you. About This Quote

This is a quote from the movie "The Pursuit of Happyness" I don't normally like quotes that are only one sentence long, but this one is just so meaningful that it needs to be shared. It's really hard to share... but it's so great, so I hope you enjoy it. A young man dies in an accident, and his father takes him to heaven. He goes to see God and asks why he died when he was so young.

God says, "Because I made you." The boy questions this and asks why God did not create him with a soul at birth instead of making him wait until death. God says, "I did that too." The boy asks if there is a way to get a soul at birth instead of waiting until death. God replies, "Yes, if you're bad enough." Setting aside the obvious question of why God would make someone bad enough to deserve a soul, this is an amazing definition of happiness- the ability to make things happen without having to depend on other people for your happiness.

It's really interesting how life can be helped by other people if you look at it from the wrong side of the track, but once you have the ability to do things yourself then you have all the freedom in the world that you need. This is something that everyone should realize eventually- I've known many people who have had difficulties in life while others have been able to help them while they were still in their own lives. If they hadn't have had someone else who cared about them then they would have never realized how powerful their own inner strength really was- or could be if they put their minds to it. It's interesting how only when other people are involved can our happiness really take off...

But once we are able to go back home and care for ourselves things somehow start taking off for us as well- mostly because we haven't been depending on other people for our happiness before then. It's great how we need other people sometimes... but once we develop the ability to help ourselves we can often do things on our own without anyone else getting involved at all...

And that's one of the most amazing things about life: If we just realize our own potential and learn how powerful we really are then each and every moment becomes a wonderful experience that we will never forget for as long as we live. "Life without purpose is meaningless." – Albert Camus – "Life without love is like a tree without
