Anthony T. HincksI tried your best and it didn't work, so now I'm going to try my best and I'm sure that I'll succeed!
About This Quote
People often say this to try to persuade someone that they are doing a good job. They hope that by saying this they can convince the other person that they are doing better, at least compared to before. However, this phrase is actually quite contradictory. It implies that if you do not succeed, you are now trying your best.
But, if you do succeed, then you are not trying your best anymore. This is similar to the idea of "you had your chance." Another interpretation says that this phrase means that you will always try your best if it does not work out the first time.
