I wanted someone above me in the chain of life. I didn't want to be alone, a single blue egg in a crumbling nest.

About This Quote

The desire to be with someone is a strong one. However, people who think that they need the person they love to complete them often find themselves alone. They often wonder why they can't be happy or at least happy with someone else. The reason for this is simple; we don't need someone we already love in order to make us happy.

This is because we already love our own happiness and we don't need another person to make us happy. Another person won't make us more secure about our own selves, because we are secure with ourselves already. The idea that we need another person to complete us doesn't make sense, because we are complete as we are and don't need any one else to complete us.

We need something outside of ourselves, like a good friend or a supportive family member, but those relationships shouldn’t replace us as well.
