The ghost is a famous literary character in the story “The Turn of the Screw” by Henry James (1843-1916). He is a malevolent spirit who takes on many forms, but is always malevolent. In the story, the ghost appears to be a young boy with pale skin and blond hair, who haunts the house of caretaker Walter Hartright and his ward, governess Miles (later renamed Mrs. Grose).
