Poverty is a result of poor choices not of poor luck

Celso Cukierkorn
About This Quote

Poverty is a result of poor choices, not of fortune. This is an extremely important distinction to make. Parents want their children to make better choices, but don’t always help them do so. In fact, most parents reinforce the idea that good things happen to good people and bad things happen to bad people.

If you are a parent, you know how frustrating it can be to think about what your child could have done differently in order to avoid poverty. But, there’s no reason for your child to live in poverty because of bad choices he or she has made. The unfortunate reality is that there are factors out of your control that will inevitably lead to poverty.

If your child is poor because of his or her own actions, then poverty should never be seen as an option for them. Poverty can be overcome through hard work and determination.
