An entire planet pretending to be uncomfortable with the humanitarian crisis while engrossed in distractions on their mobile screens. Humanity ignoring their inevitable existential crisis.

About This Quote

The problem is, we’re all falling for the same distraction: our phones. It’s not that we’re ignoring the crisis; it’s that we’re ignoring that we’re ignoring it. The thing about distraction is that there is no such thing as a “moment of silence.” We are always distracted, and somewhere down the line we either forget about what we were distracted by or we come back to it and realize we didn’t really need to be distracted in the first place. But it does no good to stop and think about what we were distracted by because we will eventually fall for another distraction and forget about the first one again.
