In the year 2000, History Channel produced a series called The World Wars. As its title implied, the series was meant to be a history of World War I and World War II. However, the series was so misleading that it turned out to be nothing more than a Hollywood production of events for which historians had nothing but contempt. The History Channel did not care about accuracy. It had already run into trouble with one of its earlier productions, which claimed that George Washington had fathered children with his slaves.
