William Plomer is a bestselling author, actor, and director. He was born in London and educated at Eton College. He spent five years as a leader of the Oxford University Dramatic Society before going up to Cambridge to read History. He then worked as a journalist, first on the "Croydon Guardian" then for a time on the "Daily Sketch" and the "Daily Mail." He is one of the most prominent fiction writers in Southern England.
