Vicente Fox Quesada, born in 1942, is the forty-third president of Mexico and its first left-of-center president since the 1980s. He was elected to office in 2000 and again in 2006. He also served as governor of the State of Guanajuato from 1982 to 1988 and mayor of the capital city, Mexico City, from 1990 to 1994. As mayor, he worked with other countries to get rid of nuclear weapons and nuclear power plants in Latin America.
