He has also written many non-fiction books on India's Intelligence agencies(ISRO, DRDO, AEROSPACE, BARC etc.), its national security policy (Brahmaputra, Sino-Indian relations , Bangladesh) and India's defence policies. His popular suspense Thriller series is about the global terrorism and Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) of Pakistan. He has written the best selling novels like CIA Agent (1st book), ISI Hunter (2nd book), US vs CIA (3rd book), The Terrorist (4th book), The Spy Hunt(5th book), The Killer Elite(6th book) and The Trail of Death(7th book).
He has been interviewed by CNN , BBC , TIME , Wall Street Journal , Forbes , Hindustan Times, Business Week & The Economist . He has been invited to write a column for Times of India and to write a feature article for Outlook Magazine . Udai Yadla is also a multi-award winning writer.
He won the Best Book of International Fiction Award from IALA – International Association of Literary Agents, USA for his first thriller novel "CIA Agent" in 2003. He won the Best International Thriller Novel Award at World Mystery Writers' Awards in 2007 for "CIA Agent". In 2009 he was awarded with Jnanpith Award from Government of India for his creative writing skills.
In 2011 he was awarded with DSC – Distinguished Service Chalm by Govt of india for his contribution to society through literature and creative writing. He was awarded Padma Shri by Govt of India in 2015 .He has also been nominated as a candidate for Lok Sabha election from North East .He has been nominated as a candidate for Rajya Sabha election from Orissa .He has been nominated as a candidate for Union Public Service Commission .He has been nominated as a member of Rajya Sabha from National Commission for Protection of Child Rights by President Pranab Mukerjee .In 2017 he was selected as one among the 50 best authors all over the world by Global Author Academy
