Tracy Chapman was born in Brooklyn, New York on June 2, 1966. She first began performing as a singer at the age of 15. Her debut album, Tracy Chapman, was released in 1988. In 1993, she received a Grammy for her hit "Fast Car." In 1994, she released her second album titled Tracy Chapman which yielded the hits "Give Me One Reason" and "Baby Can I Hold You." In 1995 she released her third album titled Changing Colors which included the hits "Fast Car" and "Talkin' Bout a Revolution." In 1997 Chapman was nominated for a Grammy for best female rock vocal performance for "Fast Car." In 1999, she released her fourth album called New Beginning which included the hits "We're Still Friends" and "For Your Love." In 2001, she released her fifth album titled Come of Age which featured the songs "Falling Down," "All Around Me," and "It's All Right." In 2002 she released her sixth album titled Tracy Chapman which featured the hit songs "You Don't Know Me" and "Baby Can I Hold You." Most recently, Chapman has released an EP entitled The Words We Can't Say.
