Tom Butler-Bowdon is the author of The Power of One, a best-selling history of his family's involvement in the slave trade. His previous books include A World on Fire: The Making of the British World, 1780-1914 and A World on Fire: The Making of the American World, 1760-1848. Tom was born in the British West Indies and now splits his time between Norfolk, UK, and Cambridge, Massachusetts.
