Tamara Agha-Jaffar is a British-born author who grew up in the United States and now lives with her family in London. She has worked as a journalist, as a financial journalist, as a television producer/director, and she was the managing director of an award-winning communications consultancy. She has written nine novels, many essays, and many academic papers. Her first novel, The Beach House, won the 2009 Orange Prize for Fiction, and her second novel, The Firework Factory won the 2010 Whitbread Prize for Biography or Autobiography.
