He has been a contributing editor to 'The Independent' and a columnist for the Sunday Times Magazine, and he has written for the 'Sunday Times,' the 'Independent' and the 'Guardian.' He has also appeared on Radio 4's 'Book at Bedtime' and BBC TV's 'Face to Face.' His work has been translated into eight languages. He lives in London.
