Born in London, Sophie Ellis-Bextor grew up in Yorkshire and West London. She was educated at the University of Bristol and the Royal Academy of Music. Her career as a singer-songwriter began with her second studio album called "Sophie" (2000). She is best known for her number one singles "Shout", "This Fire", "Daydreamer", "No Good Advice", "Heartbreak Hotel" and "Sister Moon". In addition to her solo career, she has also recorded as a guest vocalist for several artists including Robbie Williams ("Angels"), Kylie Minogue ("What Can I Do For You?") and Robbie Williams again on his album Intensive Care (2004).
Sophie's first release as a solo artist was the single "Walking In My Shoes" from her debut album Shooting Star (2003).
