Sipporah Joseph (born Sipporah Kivuva) is an author, poet, activist, spiritual teacher, and speaker. She was born in Kenya and has lived all over the world. Her work focuses on women's issues, including child trafficking, women's rights, female empowerment, and the plight of refugees. She has authored six books so far including her first book Stolen Lives: Stolen Generations of Women in Africa ; her second book I'm Free: A Journey Through Modern-day Slavery which details the horrors of human trafficking; and her third book Refugees of the Heart which brings awareness to the plight of refugees worldwide especially those who are victims of violence. She is also a poet who writes about issues that concern the African Diaspora. Her poetry has been published by many well known publications including Essence Magazine.
She received her undergraduate degree from Howard University where she double majored in Psychology and English Literature.
