Shirley A. Moore has been a writer and editor in retirement for most of her life. She worked in various settings, both public and private, most of the time as a writer and editor until she reached her 60s. She is a retired journalist, having worked for newspapers in the Washington, D.C. area for thirty-five years before retiring to raise her family
Her first book, "Foolproof: Retirement Success Through the Power of Writing," was published in 2000. She is the author of five other books, including "A Golden Letter: An Introduction to Teaching."
