Seymour Simon began his professional career in the armed services during World War II. After receiving an honorable discharge, he took his first civilian job as a public affairs officer for the Naval Air Base in San Diego. He attended California State University at Northridge, earning a degree in journalism and writing for the school newspaper. In 1976 he became President of the Lake Tahoe Chamber of Commerce and was one of its most successful presidents until 1983, when he retired to devote more time to writing and speaking. He has written numerous books and articles on business and finance, including "The Last New Car," published in Business Week Magazine. He is also a regular columnist for Personal Finance Magazine and serves as a commentator on CNBC's Up Close with Mary Thompson.
He has appeared on many television programs including CNN's Moneyline with Jon Ralston; The Today Show; The Today Show; NBC Today; CNBC; Today; CBS The Early Show; WCBS Radio News; CNBC News; and Bloomberg Television. He also speaks at colleges and business organizations throughout the country.
