Sean Christopher Bean was born on 7th December, 1964 in England. He is a British actor and retired professional football player. Bean is known for his roles as Boromir in Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Boromir's father, Iorek Byrnison in The Golden Compass, Gordon Tuck in The Patriot, and as Lord John Roxton in the television series Sharpe. He also starred as Ned Stark's bastard son, Robert Baratheon's brother Ser Jaime Lannister, in HBO's Game of Thrones.

Bean has a younger brother called Justin who works on a farm. When he was 11, he moved to Guisborough, North Yorkshire with his family.
He attended Guisborough Primary School where he played football until he broke his leg and attended Guisborough Grammar School for one year between 1981 and 1982.
He later went to work as an apprentice at the local textile factory. He played football for the factory team and also played cricket for the team.
He decided to leave school after his year but still continued to play cricket and football for Guisborough Cricket Club and Guisborough Social Football Club and went on to play for Middlesbrough Football Club Academy and began to train with their first team squad by 1986.
There he studied at Teesside College of Further Education between 1986 – 1987 and then completed his National Diploma at Teesside College of Further Education (now Teesside University) between 1987 – 1988.
He decided to go back to college for a degree course but due to frequent injuries he had to quit playing football again in 1990 after suffering two major knee injuries which kept him out of action for two years.
After suffering yet another serious knee injury during training with Middlesbrough FC he gave up playing professionally and became a coach and scout with Middlesbrough FC until 2000 where they then recruited him as their sports psychologist.
After that he joined Newcastle United as their assistant manager until October 2002 when they sacked him due to problems with the board. He then joined Dynamo Moscow FK as their assistant manager but after just one season they sacked him because of problems with the owner who didn't want him there anymore but then joined Borussia Dortmund FK as their assistant manager again between February 2004 – June 2005 before being appointed head coach on June 15th 2005 until 2007 when they sacked him because of bad
