He began formal training at the age of nine with legendary tap dancer Freddie Cole. The young prodigy appeared in numerous television programs, films, and concerts before leaving to pursue a career in music. He performed with Tony Bennett, Herbie Hancock, Diana Ross, Chaka Khan, Patti LaBelle, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Luther Vandross, James Brown, Quincy Jones and the Rolling Stones.
