Sarah Gavron was born in London to a father who was an engineer and mother who was a teacher. She is the author of the novel Under the Shadow of the Moon, which won the John Llewellyn Rhys Prize for best first novel, has been shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize, and is available as an audiobook. She studied English Literature at Oxford University, where she edited The Oxford Literary Review. Her first book of short stories, The Last Days of Summer, was published by Jonathan Cape in 2012
Her latest novel, Under the Shadow of the Moon, is published by St Ermin's Press in October 2013.
