Samuel Thomas Padmore, a West Indian-born American sociologist and poet, was a key figure in the development of Black Nationalism and Pan-Africanism. He is considered to be one of the founders of the international Pan-Africanist movement. Sam is best known for his involvement in the Harlem Renaissance and his work as a socialist activist.
