Samuel Sewall (1652-1730) was an American lawyer, judge, and politician. He served as judge of the Massachusetts Superior Court from 1685 to 1713. Sewall also served for several years as the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Massachusetts Bay Colony. His legal career was not without controversy
