Samuel Crone was born in Nuremberg, Germany. His mother died when he was seven and his father when he was twelve. He grew up in the Swiss countryside and spent time in both Switzerland and France. He originally had plans to become a doctor, but dedicated himself instead to literary pursuits
He wrote numerous books of poetry and short stories, the most popular of which is A People Once Again (1938). He dedicated his works to the Jewish people of Europe and especially of Germany, and was very critical of the Nazi regime and of anti-Semitism.
The only thing fairytales have taught us is the slipper doesn't always fit, the kiss won't always wake you, and the prince won't always fight for you. However, one thing that rings true, the apple will ALWAYS be poisoned.Samuel Crone
