Sam Walter Foss was born in 1878 in Denmark. He is one of the best-know Danish photographers of the twentieth century, known especially for his intimate portraits. His work was shown at exhibitions throughout Europe and North America. After World War II, Foss published a series of books on modern art, which helped to create an international climate for photography
