Roland Joffe was born in Vienna, Austria in 1926. He studied architecture and urban planning at the Universities of Vienna and California. He emigrated to the United States in 1957 and became a US citizen in 1959. Over the following years he developed a unique form of architectural design that is an art form unto itself
In 1979 he established his own architectural firm, A.R. Joffe Associates, Inc., which continues to design about 80 projects a year including office buildings, fine residences, museums, churches, libraries and other structures.
