Rod Tyson was the founding editor of the New York Times best-selling book Brain Rules, which has sold more than 1 million copies. His recent books include "The Physics of Sailing", "Sailing in Stormy Weather", "How to Sail a Two-Masted Yawl Research Yacht", and "Practical Sailor" (with Harry Hill), all published by The MIT Press. He is currently Vice President for Research at the Rhode Island Marine Education Foundation, Inc., in Newport, Rhode Island.
