Robin Leach was born in London to a British father and American mother. He grew up in California and studied at Santa Clara University, majoring in political science and philosophy. After a brief stint writing for a San Francisco newspaper, he moved to Los Angeles where he became a celebrity interviewer for the television show Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous. Leach reignited his passion for journalism in 1991, when he joined CNN as an anchorman for its prime-time news magazine program, CNN Presents
Leach is also co-owner of the Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous restaurant chain.
