Robert Neelly Bellah, Ph.D., is Professor Emeritus of Religion at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He is the author of several books on the history of religion, including The God of Jew and Christian (University of Chicago Press, 1972), The Christian Bible (2nd ed., University of Chicago Press, 1980), and The World-Religions (University of California Press, 2000). He has also written numerous articles on the origins and development of Christianity.
