Captain Robert Falcon Scott RN was a British naval officer, explorer, and pioneer of polar exploration. After graduating from the Royal Naval College, Greenwich, in 1875, Scott commanded the frigate HMS Monmouth during the Anglo-Egyptian War of 1882 and then sailed to Australia. During his final Antarctic expedition he was killed on 9 June 1912.
