Robbie Thomas was born in Salisbury, North Carolina. He graduated Cum Laude from Marshall University with a degree in History. While at Marshall he was active in the Phi Delta Theta fraternity, which he later joined as an honorary member. The novel was never published but stopped any thoughts of him being a writer forever - to that day he has never written another word. He attended law school at the University of South Carolina and received his Juris Doctorate in 1996. While attending law school, Thomas worked as a legal assistant for his father, who was an attorney practicing commercial litigation until his death in 1997.
