Rick Strassman is a neuroscientist-turned-researcher turned psychonaut. He is the founder of the Center for Studies of Anomalous Mental States (CSAMS) at University of New Mexico, where research on the effects of psilocybin on humans began. The first study was conducted using a double-blind placebo-controlled design with ten volunteers who received psilocybin and underwent a series of psychological tests after their experience.
