Richard Perle served as chairman of the Defense Policy Board from 2001 to 2004, and from 2005 to 2007 was chairman of the Foreign Affairs Task Force at the American Enterprise Institute. In addition, he was a member of the Defense Policy Board from 2001 to 2004 and a member of the Defense Policy Board Advisory Committee from 2002 to 2007. From 2001 to 2003, he was a member of the President's Policy Planning Staff. He previously served as an assistant secretary of defense in the Reagan Administration, as a foreign policy adviser for Bob Dole's campaign in 1996, and on the staff of the Senate Armed Services Committee

Mr. Perle also has been a senior fellow at the Hudson Institute since 1996, chairman of its International Advisory Board since 2001, and an adjunct professor at New York University since 1997. Mr.
Perle was a member of the board of directors of Wackenhut Corporation from 1993 through 1998 and a director and then chairman of TRW Incorporated from 1980 until 2001. Mr. Perle is a director and then vice chairman of L-3 Communications Holdings, Inc., and serves as a trustee for several other companies and organizations.
