Richard Lee JuiChe (aka Keita Hirose, born in 1944) is a Japanese manga artist and writer. He was born in Sakai City, Osaka where he attended the Osaka City Design High School of Fine Arts. He also studied painting under professor Matsuo Kōji of the Kyoto University of Fine Arts and graduated from the Osaka Design High School of Fine Arts. After graduating from college, he worked for a short while at a design company before becoming an assistant to manga artist and animator Yoshiyuki Tomino during the production of Gunbuster
He then created his first original piece, "Kinyōbi" ("The Red Lady") in 1974. His work has been influenced by his interest in Taoism and Buddhism, as well as the work of Kōshirō Woodblock print artists such as Utamaro and Hokusai.
