Ray Price Billy is an internationally acclaimed singer/songwriter and pioneer of blending country and folk music with rock'n'roll. His recording career has spanned nearly 50 years, and his career as a performer continues to grow. His extensive list of awards and accolades include: seven Grammys, nine BMI Awards as the most recorded artist in the world, three Gold Records, 10 #1 singles on Billboard's Hot Country Singles and Tracks charts, and the first-ever induction into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. He is also a recipient of The National Medal of Arts and the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Ray Price Billy was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2005
He was inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame in 1996. He received The Kennedy Center Honors award in 2007 for his contribution to American culture. In 2011 he was awarded an honorary Doctorate from Berklee College of Music.
In 2012 Ray received the prestigious National Humanities Medal from President Barack Obama at a ceremony at the White House. Ray was inducted into The Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2014. In 2017 Ray was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award by The Academy of Country Music (ACM) for his influence on American music and his philanthropic efforts to support those in need through his Ray Price Foundation. Ray Price Billy has been awarded several honorary degrees from colleges and universities around the world including: Berklee College Of Music In Boston In 2011, Eckerd College In St Petersburg In 2015, CUNY Graduate Center In New York In 2016, University Of Texas At Austin In 2017.
