Ray Lewis was born in New York City, New York. He attended the University of Miami, Florida, where he played football for the Hurricanes. While at Miami, he was a member of Omega Psi Phi fraternity. Lewis graduated from the University of Miami with his bachelor's degree in criminology in 1992. The Baltimore Ravens selected Lewis in the second round (eighth overall) in the 1992 NFL Draft. He is one of only four NFL players to win championships (Super Bowl XXXV) as both a player and an executive (sports agent).
He is also one of three NFL players to achieve 100+ sacks and score 1000+ career points (the others are Reggie White and Bruce Smith).
