Rahul Dravid is a former Indian cricketer. He played the game for over 15 years for Mumbai, Baroda, Delhi in domestic cricket and in various formats of international cricket. He was also part of the winning Indian team in the 2003 Cricket World Cup. He is currently the coach of Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League.

He retired from international cricket in December 2005 with 6,392 runs from 71 tests with an average of 59.54. He was India's leading run-scorer in Tests until the end of 2007, when he was overtaken by Sachin Tendulkar's run tally. As of January 2008, Dravid has 11,922 runs in One Day Internationals, making him the most prolific one-day player for India and he has scored more than 100 sixes in ODIs.
Although his Test average has been eclipsed by Tendulkar's batting average, Dravid is still ranked as one of the top ten Test batsmen since his debut in August 1998 and holds many other records such as being second on the list of most runs scored by an Indian batsman outside Asia and second on the list of most centuries scored by an Indian batsman outside Asia.
Dravid also played 85 Twenty20 Internationals and scored 2,941 runs at an average of 19.25 and a strike rate of 89.57; he was only dismissed for a single six but he did pick up 16 wickets at an average of 31.63 and a bowling strike rate of 79.31 (32 wickets) and holds records for having scored most runs (2,941) by an Indian batsman in Twenty20 Internationals and second highest score by an Indian T20 batsman to Sanath Jayasuriya's 434 not out against Sri Lanka at Colombo on 7 December 2006
He captained India to their maiden World Twenty20 title at home against Pakistan at Bangalore on 14 March 2007 and became only the third cricketer to captain India to a World Cup final when they beat Pakistan by six wickets at Kolkata on 25 April 2007
In December 2007 Dravid announced that he would retire from playing cricket after his contract expired with Rajasthan Royals in 2008–09 season
In February 2008 Dravid signed a three-year deal with Cricket South Africa to become their
