Qandeel is a Pakistani model, actress and social media celebrity. She was raised in Multan by her father (a police officer) and her mother (a homemaker). Her parents divorced when she was eight years old, and she took on the responsibility of raising Qandeel Khokhar, her younger brother. She was educated at the Convent of Jesus and Mary, an all-girls Catholic school in Karachi where she did well in studies and became involved with the school's drama society. Qandeel then moved to Islamabad to study psychology at the American University of Technology
When her brother died in 2013, Qandeel returned to Karachi to take care of his children. In 2015, Qandeel started to receive death threats from her brother's old associates.
