Peter L. Bergen is a PhD in political science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and currently a fellow in National security studies at the Center for International Studies at Harvard University. In September 2001, he was a producer on CNN’s four-part series on al Qaeda. In December 2002, Peter Bergen was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for his book "Holy War Inc." Bergen has advised presidents and counternarcotics officials on counterterrorism issues since 9/11. He consults with the US Department of State on counter-terrorism issues.
He is also an adjunct professor at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) where he teaches courses on terrorism, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Central Asia.
