Peter Jurasik is a writer and director of independent films. He was born in Chicago in 1969. He grew up in a lower middle class family in a suburb of Chicago where his interest in filmmaking started when he was a young child. In 1997 he moved to Los Angeles where he studied Film at UCLA. In 2001, he made his first short film "Rain" which was nominated for an Academy Award. In 2004, Jurasik wrote, directed and produced his first feature film "The Other Side of Heaven". His second feature film "The Possession of Michael King" was released by Lionsgate in 2011 and won a SXSW Breakthrough Director Award.
His most recent release was the film "Haunters" released by Universal Pictures in 2014. He also co-wrote the screenplay for the animated film "Legend of the Guardians."
