Pete Fountain is a B.A. graduate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He worked as a disc jockey at several radio stations in Florida, Texas and Ohio before moving to New Orleans in 1977. In New Orleans, he recorded for Cajun Radio Network, WWOZ-FM, and Jazz & Heritage USA
In 1989, he became a host on WDSU-TV's "The Pete Fountain Show," which led to his becoming a local celebrity.
