Paul Krassner is a writer, comedian, and satirist. He is the founding member of The Realists, a long-running satirical newspaper founded by Lenny Bruce and Mort Sahl. He was a contributor to the counter-culture anthology The New Left: A Tribute to Heroes of a Lost Generation (1970) and his work has appeared in numerous magazines including Playboy, The Village Voice, High Times, The New Republic, Rolling Stone, Esquire, Time Out New York, and The Village Voice. In 1960 he became editor of The Realist. After years of success at the helm of the Realist, Krassner decided to start his own publication in 1965 called ROTC (for Real Old Time Comics). He was editor for over three years before the daily newspaper closed its doors when its owner was sentenced to prison for tax evasion.
