Olli Jalonen is Professor of Psycholinguistics at the University of Helsinki, Finland. His research interests include language production, speech perception, child language acquisition, and bilingualism. His research has focused on how children acquire words in their first language, the effects of literacy instruction in second languages, and the formation of bilingual consciousness. He has published over 70 papers in refereed journals and edited or authored five books
He is currently the editor of Principles and Practice of Language Acquisition (Longman) and chair of the European Association for Psycholinguistics.
