Ninotchka Rosca is a novelist and the author of The Light and the Dark and The Lure of the Dark. She is also executive director for literary programs at the Center for Fiction in New York City. Previously, she was executive director of Brooklyn Arts Exchange, an organization that promotes the arts in communities across Brooklyn, and she worked as a fiction editor for Dzanc Books. She divides her time between Brooklyn and Nairobi, Kenya.
